Gameserver is a web service that provides support for viewing and running general game playing matches. All users can view matches as they are played. Registered users can, in addition, register players, set up matches, and run those matches on their own.

Note that the data in this version of Gameserver is ephemeral. The service is periodically restarted, and at such times all data on past matches is discarded. This is in keeping with its purpose as a development tool. Archival matches (such as the AAAI competitions) are run with an archival version of Gameserver. With the exception of persistence, the two versions of Gameserver are otherwise identical. So, this version can be used to prepare for official competitions.
